Volunteering in School
At Armathwaite we really value and encourage volunteer help in school. It makes a big difference and can really enrich learning. Our volunteers include parents, grandparents and members of our fantastic community. Volunteering in school can be very enjoyable and rewarding for everyone involved. It provides opportunities to find out more about and be involved in what is going on in school.
Volunteers help in all kinds of ways:
- helping in class ~ literacy, numeracy, science, Design and Technology, PE – anything you like!
- reading with children
- helping with food technology and textiles (sewing)
- helping in child initiated independent learning sessions
- helping with photocopying, printing and filing
- and many more…
If you would like to volunteer in school and make a big difference to our children’s learning please let us know. You can help on a regular basis(once a week) or just on an ‘as and when you can’ basis. We will make sure we organise a time that is convenient for you.
To help people prepare for volunteering in school, we have produced a guide for volunteering in Armathwaite School. Please click the link below to view our guide.
