In Year 1 we have been learning about place value. We used Numicon plates and rods to help us to see the tens and ones. We worked together talking about what we were learning and the equipment helped us to compare the numbers.

We are also using other objects like raisins and fruit pieces to help us to learn to estimate. When we have estimated we group our objects into tens and ones. Then we divide and eat them !
